Lesson 13: Class Presentation

Lesson Length

2 class periods (85 minutes each)

Class Presentation

On day 1:
Students will make final preparations to present their developed character. The narrator will have developed the setting for "Deerfield: citizens" and act as the producer to determine the order in which they will present to give the presentation coherence.

On day 2:
A Presentation of "OUR TOWN: DEERFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS"
After the presentation, we will share a meal. Each student will stay in the character that he/she has developed.

Serve colonial food as a culmination of the unit study. (cider, gingerbread, corn chowder, corn bread, applesauce)

In Preparation for Teaching

1. Read an overview of Thonton Wilder's play Our Town.
2. Find recipes for Colonial food and
3. make arrangements for the food to be prepared and served.

 

Assessment

Use the student developed rubric to assess the characters in the presentation.
