OIL CINNAMON
CORDIAL
HAS but lately had a place in the list of Family Medicine,
nor has its virtues been generally known.
It is a powerful stimulus, or bracer, and is very pleasant to the taste, when
diluted in water or sugar. It is remarkable for stopping puking, in all cases,
and especially in the Colera Morbis, and when a puke operates too much, the
dose may be repeated till it has an effect. When persons of weakly habits become
faint by fatigue, it will immediately give tone, or strength, to the system.
For aged infirm people, it is an excellent restorative.
In long continued dysenteries it is very powerful, and may be often repeated
in small doses, at the discretion of the patient. For female weakness, sinking
and fainting it is well adapted, and gives immediate relief, and may be used
with safety.
