In Convention

At a Meeting of Delegates from the County of Hampshire Holden at Hadley
Hatfield by adjournment on the first Tuesday of April 1782

The clerk of sd Convention being Absent
Voted & Chose Enos Nash & Chancey Brewer Esqr Clerks of sd Convention

Voted that this Convention be Adjourned till tomorrow Morning att eight OClock to meet
Att the Meetinghouse in Hatfield

Voted that if there is any number of this Convention Possesed of any Instructions
from his Town & is desirous of having them communicated to this Convention that he
have Oppertunity Therefor.

Voted that a Committee of three persons be appointed to draw a pe=
=tion praying the General Court not to make an alteration with Respect
to the person who is to take the Confession agreeable to the Confessors Act Accordingly Maj Josph Hawley
Mr Jono Billing & Deac Jonath White were Chosen to be a Committee
for that purpose.

A Motion was made & put whether the Fee Bill be considered as a
Grievance --passed in the Affirmative

Voted That this Meeting be Adjourned till 2 oClock PM not accourding to
Adjournment

Voted that the Court of General Session of the Peace is a Grievance

Voted that real & Personal Estate be a tender to satisfy Executions to be
Apprised by indifferent Men under Oath ___ this to be only Temporary

Voted that this Convention be Adjourned till Eight oClock tomorrow Morning

Voted that a Petition be preferd to the Legislature praying that an
Alteration may be made in Act respecting the Qualification of Votes
in Town Affairs from paying 2/3 as much for real & personal Estate
as a pole 1/3

Voted that Constables have ye same power as mentioned in a Fee
Table of Bill made in 1776

Voted that the following Vote be taken by Yeas & Nays & to be recon by Towns

Voted to request the Inferior Court to forbear giving Judgment in civil
Causes except the creditor make it appear that he is Danger of loosing
his Debt or where the parties are agreed

V. That this Convention request the Legislature from time to
time to inform their constituents in the most effectual manner
of all such matters relating to the situation of Publick Affairs Proceedings
of Congress Important Taxes important Appropriations of Money Modes of
Defence & probable means of Extricating Ourselves from our Principle
Difficulties as they in their great Wisdom shall Judge likely to enlighten
satisfy & animate them to a faithful united & successful prosecution of
the war & give them the most entire confidence in the wisdom & entegrity
of the government
