His Estimate Gives Him 117 Majority in the Electoral College.

Harper's Weekly in discussing the outlook this week says: There is no longer any doubt as to the result of the election. Mr. Bryan will be defeated. The only question is as to the extent of the defeat. The following table shows the result of a careful and trustworthy canvass of the several States:

This table gives Mr. McKinley a majority of 117 in the electoral college. He will probably have a greater majority. In the above table there are 68 doubtful votes that have been counted for Mr. Bryan.

The Presidential election of 1896 resulted in a large majority of Electoral College votes for William McKinley over William Jennings Bryan 271 to 176. The popular vote was not as overwhelmingly pro McKinley. He received 7,102,246 to Bryan's 6,492,559. This article tallies the electoral votes by state according to "Harper's Weekly" and incorrectly reports that McKinley had 282 to Bryan's 165.
