The creator of this bowl, Madeline Yale Wynne, was a nationally known artist who spent many years summering in Deerfield Massachusetts. Her specialties included raffia basketmaking and work in metal. This copper bowl, decorated with daffodils, shows obvious marks of having been hand-made as opposed to machine-made. The Arts and Crafts Movement of the early twentieth century valued hand-made objects.
