The French and Indian raid on the Massachusetts town of Deerfield in 1704 has fascinated generations of New Englanders. By 1919, these "Olde Deerfield" paper dolls turned the horrible experience of captives like seven-year-old Eunice Williams and her brother Stephen into a child's woodland adventure. The pictures of Native American clothing are not correct for Northeastern Woodland Indian dress, but show instead a strong Plains Indian influence. The clothing of the captives is not correct either.
