Edward Allyn's wife had died in June 1696, but he left 11 living children, the oldest, 37 and the youngest, 11. He gave very clear directions for the division of his land and property. His will is typical in that the land and buildings are left to the boys and the girls get "the moveables," the household goods. Edward Allyn signed his will with an "X."
