This "View" of the town of Deerfield is a printed summary for a gazetteer of Massachusetts. Rodolphus Dickinson (1786-1862), a lawyer and minister, wrote this one. He went into great detail describing soil, climate, geology, curiosities, and things produced in the area and included comments on the character of the town, which is typical of what gazetteers contained.
